PLI Objectives
Starting with the “End” in mind
In the midst of all of PLI’s conferences, meetings, collegial groups etc. there is an underlying purpose. An ‘end’ in mind. The following list briefly summarized four purposes or objectives behind PLI’s methodology.
5 Objectives
1) The primary objective of this ministry is to assist pastors in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod to “Connect People to Jesus” in a more dynamic and effective manner.
2) Specifically the program will focus on a select group of new pastors and partners each year to enter the four year training program. The program will provide mentor partner support via its “Partners Influencing Partners” program.
3) The Institute will provide to all PLI congregations at least one training course that has been adapted for ministry within their congregations.
4) PLI will continue to enhance the educational value of the program via strategic alliances with Concordia Seminary-St Louis, Concordia Theological Seminary-Fort Wayne and other key synodical educational institutions.
5) The Institute will continue to provide leadership skills training and collegial accountability to those students who have completed the four year program.
