More Fishing Yet!

It seems to me the best fisherman for the male species are those of the male species…with one exception, perhaps.

When the male is attempting to woo the female, she can get him to do almost anything! But ordinarily speaking, a man talking to and inviting a man can work and work well.

So what if you, as a man, invited the men of your congregation to join you for some thinking, praying, strategizing, and training in how to invite another man to grow spiritually? You may even divide the invitation list into sublists: those who have retired; those who are in executive-type leadership positions; those who have kids in sports programs; those who are sports enthusiasts; etc.

What if you brainstormed about approaches the men could use to talk to, or at least invite another man to some event (most likely, “Come to church with me.” Will not rise to the top, but it might. I just tried it on my neighbor and he said he would.) What if that group then planned an event, say a barbeque at one of their backyards, to which all of them would invite a friend? Or whatever strategy the group comes up with (they will know what their male friends respond to). Let it be developed and you bless it. You may or may not want to or need to attend.

The big issue is that of developing and building on relationships. In this world of broken relationships, helping your men to build strong ones, ones that others can trust, and then inviting fellow members of the male species to join them in activities where other members of the male species congregate, have a good time, but love and serve the Lord too is very attractive. It’s good bait for catching many whoppers!
